Vanisha Gould is a creative vocalist, composer, and bandleader from Simi Valley, California. Since moving to New York in 2015 she has become a vibrant voice in the city’s jazz scene. A stylist with soul influenced by Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Joni Mitchell, Sarah Vaughan, and Ella Fitzgerald, she is described as a singular talent with an elegant, impactful, and memorable stage presence. Gould’s artistry reflects a deep respect for tradition while boldly exploring her own musical narrative. She has performed internationally in Russia, Sweden, and at the Copenhagen Jazz Festival. She has captivated audiences at NYC staples such as Smalls Jazz Club, Mezzrow, Dizzy’s Club, Minton’s Playhouse, and The Django. In 2024, she was awarded a New Jazz Works Artist Residency at The Jazz Gallery. Vanisha Gould continues to craft music that is personal, powerful, and deeply rooted in jazz tradition
