Fri, June 12 "Schticky Fingers" w/ Junior Scaife

June 12, 2026 08:00 PM until June 12, 2026 11:00 PM

AN ARTIST’S DUTY...AS FAR AS I’M CONCERNED...IS TO REFLECT THE TIMES!” -NINA SIMONE

Junior Scaife was born with music in his blood. Growing up in Auburn, Alabama, he was surrounded by Gospel, Blues, Soul, and the deep traditions of the South. By the time he was ten, he was directing choirs, holding down the organ, and keeping rhythm on the drums. His earliest stage was his father’s church—but it didn’t take long for the world to notice. Since earning a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music, Junior has been unstoppable—sharing stages with legends like Berry Gordy, Valerie Simpson, Niels Lan Doky, Yolanda Adams, Ben Vereen, Harry Belafonte, Debbie Sledge, Jennifer Holliday, Evan Ross, Wanya Morris, and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. He’s even rocked as a Top 50 finalist on American Idol and brought down the house as the “Set It Off Man” at Harlem’s legendary Apollo Theater. In New York City, Junior founded the soul-stirring quartet DJ & the Yams, whose debut album Let’s Ride (2022) blends Afrodiasporic traditions with raw, modern grooves. And now, stepping out front, Junior is carving his own path as a solo artist on Penrose (Daptone) Records, with a string of new releases dropped in 2024 and 2025. Written with sweet-soul powerhouse Anthony Masino, Junior has released four banging tracks: “When My Heart Beats,” “Moment to Moment,” “Nobody Gets My Love,” and “Too Much, Too Soon” (available on all platforms). But Junior isn’t just a performer—he’s a storyteller, a griot, a vessel for joy, healing, and revolution. Whether he’s hosting Ashford & Simpson’s legendary Open Mic Thursdays, leading his own trio, or taking a stage anywhere on the planet, one thing’s for sure: when Junior Scaife sings, you feel it.
